Isabella Jorno

 

Born in Rome, she started painting and drawing in her childhood years, inspired by the work of her maternal great-uncle and her mother, both painters. After several long breaks during which she devoted herself to acting, writing and studying music, in 2007 she started painting again. She joined the VersOltre School of Art, where she is refining her technique. Attracted by the Japanese culture, she attended sumi-e Japanese painting classes held by Toba Ikuyo.

She doesn't consider herself an artist, but simply “a person who likes playing with the arts”.

Her favourite subjects have been: flowers and animals, then portraits, dancers, of whom she loves catching an instant of movement in empty space, defined only by body and gesture; finally the human figure in general.
